He is the lead manager for the Manager’s Japanese Smaller Companies Strategy and a member of the Manager’s International Smaller Companies Portfolio Construction Group. Mr. Kumar graduated BEng in Computer Science from Bangalore University in 2001 and gained an MBA from the University of Cambridge in 2008.

Βιογραφία	Paul is an Investment Manager in the Japanese Equities Team. He joined Baillie Gifford in 2018. Reflecting his long-standing fascination with Japan and his experience of living there, Paul is particularly interested in identifying those companies that will shape Japan’s economic future. Furthermore, he is intrigued by questions of impact and ESG and keen to explore them in a Japanese context. He gained an AM in South Asian Studies from Harvard University in 2015 and an MA in Indian Studies from the University of Tübingen in 2011. He graduated PhD in South Asian Studies from Harvard University in 2017.

Βιογραφία	John is an Investment Manager and member of the Long Term Global Growth (LTGG) and China A-Share teams. He has been a Partner in the firm since 2016. He joined Baillie Gifford in 2000 as a part of the North American department and then went on to work in the Japan and Global Discovery teams before joining his current teams. John graduated MA in Ancient & Modern History from the University of Oxford in 2000.

He joined SLI from Baillie Gifford in 2007 and has 25 years’ experience in the investment industry. Alistair has a 1st class economics degree from Cambridge University.

Βιογραφία	Mark joined Baillie Gifford in 1996 and is the head of the Long Term Global Growth Team, a strategy which he co-founded in 2003. Mark previously worked as an Investment Analyst and Manager in the US, UK and Japanese Equities teams. He became a Partner in 2004. Mark graduated BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford in 1992 and spent a year at Harvard as a Kennedy Scholar in 1993 before completing a PhD in Politics with a thesis on Nationalism in the EU at the University of Edinburgh in 1996.
